Estimating Manager

David Weekley Homes is seeking an Estimating Manager who will be responsible for on-time and accurate estimating of material quantities to build homes. 

Primary Functions include:

Manages estimating priorities and scheduleStaff, Lead and Develop estimating teamMaintain estimating standards across the organizationCoordinates with team to understand workloadLiaison with Design Team to maintain consistency of plans and value engineering opportunitiesEmploys and manages internal and external resources to provide material quantitiesCoordinates with divisional and area purchasing to understand and correct estimating-based variance/plan changesManages soft cost amounts for communitiesConduct Community Set-up meetings to ensure proper budgets to avoid variance
Qualifications3-5 Years in Residential Construction Operations2+ Years in Construction Purchasing to include estimating, construction, and negotiationBachelors Degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degreeExcellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this areaRead and thoroughly understand residential blueprintsStrong math and excel computer skills are essential and exposure to JD Edwards is beneficialAn ideal candidate will also possess the following intangibles: self-directed, readily adaptable to change, disciplined work habits and good organization
