We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. This role prepares accurate bid proposals, pricing estimates, and change orders while analyzing contract documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates that align with division goals.

The Role

Analyze contractual requirements, specifications, and drawings to develop a cost-effective construction planConduct precise quantity take-offs to ensure all project scope elements are capturedDevelop comprehensive cost estimates, incorporating all scope elements, general conditions, subcontractor pricing, materials, equipment, and labor ratesSolicit, evaluate, and select qualified subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring prequalification requirements are metMeet with customers to tailor estimates to their needs and highlight TAK’s value propositionIdentify project risks and opportunities, communicating findings and mitigation strategies to the division managerPrepare detailed proposals, including project duration, key assumptions, exclusions, and required documentationTrack and follow up on bids, gathering feedback and ensuring clear next stepsParticipate in post-bid interviews to clarify scope, sequence, and key assumptionsMaintain organized project information and ensure timely internal and external communicationBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and key stakeholdersAssist in project hand-offs to ensure smooth transitions to project management and field operationsConduct postmortem follow-ups to gather customer feedback, reinforce TAK’s differentiators, and improve future estimatesTravel +/- 25% to project sites as neededOther duties as assigned Requirements 5+ years of telecommunications operations / estimating experience, along with 5+ years in a leadership capacityProven experience managing telecommunications pre-construction processesIn-depth knowledge of fiber network construction principles/practices requiredExperience building relationships and working with subcontractors and vendorsExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong user of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft ExcelPractical leadership abilities such as the ability to motivate others, goal setting, and conflict managementOrganizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitaskingCreative and results-oriented, with a keen sense of urgency and self-motivationAbility to travel +/- 25% annually as neededMust provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves drivingPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
