The Role
As a result of substantial growth in our Asset Remediation division, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team, based in our Port Melbourne office.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and tenders for projects across Australia.
This involves leading a competitive estimation and tender process for remedial projects, for example wharf and jetty remediation, concrete repair and strengthening projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Engineers to develop construction methodologies and non-price submission information. Develop detailed cost estimates for various remedial projects, compile accurate tenders within deadlines, and present for management review. Develop draft construction programs in consultation with in house P6 Planner; Compile tenders for submission Develop and maintain close working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; Contribute to business development initiatives, identifying opportunities, and nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients to foster growth.The successful applicant will ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction or similar; Demonstrated experience in estimating remedial projects (4+ years); Competent in first principles estimating Knowledge of concrete construction and remediation; Experience working for a Tier 1 / Tier 2 construction contractor; An extensive network of contacts across Australia; Experience with Expert Estimation estimating software package; and, Experience preparing construction programs using Microsoft Project (or Primavera 6).
