Job Description
Generate estimates for the supply and installation of conveying and storage systems primarily in the grain handling and storage industry. Support a steel fabrication manufacturing environment by working with customers, project managers, sales staff, and other engineers to develop pricing quotes. Consider cost of material, labor, and engineering hours by reviewing customer blueprints, internal blueprints, BOMs, and CAD files in AutoCAD. Partner with shop leadership, construction leadership, and project management to estimate labor hours and cost. Help identify potential estimation software to purchase and use for this role, and assist in digitizing legacy estimation records. Some travel, estimated at 10% or less, to local customers where you will return home the same night.

This role supports a steel fabrication manufacturing environment and involves collaborating with various teams including shop leadership and project management. The position involves some local travel, estimated at 10% or less, where you will return home the same night. The company is a small family-run business where you will wear multiple hats, including potentially climbing a ladder on a tall grain elevator to get field measurements after your initial contracting period. The environment encourages bringing new ideas, including software recommendations, to the VP to help develop the firm's estimation process.
