Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our AZ branch office. This individual will provide and/or coordinate all estimating services necessary to procure process piping projects, with a focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and profitability. The role involves cultivating relationships with the Estimating Departments within our targeted community of General Contractors.

ResponsibilitiesRegularly contact the Pre-Construction Departments of our targeted community of General Contractors to identify opportunities.Evaluate opportunities to ensure pursuit of projects with the best opportunity for success, consistent with our business model, and capable of contributing margins consistent with the business plan.Review all plans, P&ID’s, specifications, and contracts prior to preparing the estimate to identify any impacts on the work.Learn and operate a computer-based take-off and estimating system that provides reproducible results.Coordinate drawings, scopes, and POCs with other trades.Prepare RFIs for projects bidding.Solicit pricing from vendors/subcontractors.Prepare recaps, general conditions, schedules, and letters for projects.Run job reports in preparation for bid review with the Estimating Manager.Assist in selling the project, including developing a scope of supply, presentations if required, entertaining, negotiating, and closing.Participate in the kickoff meeting, presenting the scope of work, work plan, budget, unusual requirements, and any critical limitations on the scope of work.Assist in productivity tracking of labor units.Participate in daily staff meetings to identify any scope deviations, monitor production, and forecast future work. Assist in developing alternate plans to recover projects where actual performance is not meeting the budgeted plan.Essential Skills3+ years of estimating experience, preferably with a mechanical contractor, but open to General Contractors.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.Experience with Revit and Navisworks.Mechanical/process piping experience.Experience with process piping, plumbing, HVAC, semiconductor, and biopharmaceutical industries.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in process piping, equipment, and pipe fabrication within the semiconductor or biopharmaceutical industry.Field/Craft experience.Understanding of piping and installation.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.Work Environment

The position is onsite at our Murray office, with occasional travel to nearby job sites. Start times for Estimators are typically earlier, around 6/6:30am. This is an hourly position with the potential for some overtime on occasion. Relocation is potentially open for quality candidates. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, lifting up to 15 pounds at times, and traversing uneven ground while walking job sites and climbing stairs to access job site trailers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00
