We're looking for an Estimator (Civils) to join our Natural Resources team with a focus on Civils and covering estimating tasks for our water frameworks in the Thames and Southern Water regions.

Location: based between the southern water area and Thames Water patch, you'll work a mixture of office/site visits and working from home

Hours: Permanent, full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Responsibilities

We're looking for an Estimator (Civils) to join our water frameworks responsible for preparation of pricing for tenders/bids and other opportunities identified by the business. In this role you'll manage and deliver the estimating process from receipt of documents to handover to the delivery team. 

Your day to day will include:

Preparation/input into the bid programme relating to estimating tasks and agree deadlines. Preparation of quantities from drawings and specifications, working with recognised methods of measurement, such as CESMM and MMHW. Initiate technical queries and ensure design sufficiently developed to ensure accurate costings. Preparing abstract of material and sub-contract requirements for sourcing and pricing. Technical and commercial appraisal of material and subcontractor quotations including selection of prospective sub-contractors.

What are we looking for?

This Estimator (Civils) is great for you if you have:

Proven experience working as an Estimator for a major civil engineering contractor. Experience working to and meeting exacting deadlines and the ability to manage administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of the tender. Have good commercial awareness with a knowledge of various Forms of Contract - NEC, ICE, IChemE. Good communication skills with other members of the team and with external Good technical understanding of the Civil Engineering and the ability to promote alternative solutions.
