Estimator Planner

General Summary

Perform walking, planning, cost estimation, and scheduling for all service order projects. This includes writing . proposals, designing projects, obtaining subcontractor bids, monitoring projects, and providing interim and final inspections of all service order projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.  Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.  Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.  Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.  Develops bids for construction projects.  Works closely with architects and other professionals.  Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.  Navigates and understands building codes.  Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required.  Monitors construction processes.  Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction. 

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

Proven experience as an estimator or similar position  Familiarity with financials and project management principles  In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas  Exquisite math and IT ability with analytical mindset  Proficient in relevant software for estimating.  Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities   Excellent organizational skills 

Working knowledge of commercial construction estimating software and databases, with programs including but not limited to R.S. Means or equivalent software.

Work Experience

2 years Construction estimating and Project management 

Education, Licenses and Certification

Required:

High School Diploma
