Job Summary

In 2023, the President's Office established the Ethics, Integrity and Compliance Office (EICO). This newly formed office seeks a dynamic, creative, and experienced communications professional to support the work of the Ethics, Integrity, and Compliance Officer (EIC Officer) and the Director of Education and Outreach. The EICO helps units coordinate ethics, integrity, and compliance activities and offers guidance on compliance questions across the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses, as well as Michigan Medicine.

We seek an experienced professional who will be responsible for managing the full scope of communication projects involving partners from multiple units across the university and external constituents. The specialist will regularly write and maintain communications on behalf of the EIC Officer and the EICO. Communications include, but are not limited to, content and various delivery methods including presentations, targeted email, printed documents, web pages, and training programs. The communications specialist will be instrumental in the planning, execution and marketing of the annual Compliance Week event.

The position will report directly to the Director of Education and Outreach, and will have independent responsibility for a significant volume and variety of administrative functions and handle matters of a confidential and sensitive nature.

The position will regularly interact with senior leaders, faculty, and staff at all levels, and, at times, the President. Providing excellent assistance to EICO leadership, the position's demands are variable in nature, type, and volume. The job responsibilities are shaped by the demands of the EICO activities which may vary over time. This position will be primarily on-site in Ann Arbor with autonomy and flexibility, including the opportunity for a hybrid schedule in accordance with operational needs. Work on evenings and weekends may occasionally be needed to accommodate the office schedule and events.

The salary range for this position is $68,000- $80,000. A higher salary may be possible for well-qualified applicants.
