**Job Description [“What You’ll Do”]:**
+ **Primary Job Function** Abbott is currently seeking an experienced professional to provide:
+ Direct oversight for complex elements of Abbott’s compliance program at the India regional level.
+ Identification of compliance risk areas and recommends action plans to Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO).
+ Direction in the development and administration of Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) education and training, and development and implementation of divisional monitoring plan.
+ **Core Job Responsibilities**
+ Provides direct oversight for all elements of Abbott’s compliance program at the India regional level.
+ Reports to the DVP, International Ethics & Compliance Officer
+ Responsible for directing the development and administration of OEC education and training, and development and implementation of divisional monitoring plan, identifying compliance risk areas and communicates such risk areas to division management along with action plans to address risk
+ Provide leadership, guidance and support to all levels of key divisional business leadership on highly complex ethics and compliance issues, including policy interpretation and requirement, compliance risk assessment, trend analysis and best practice recommendations. Resolves highly complex ethics and compliance matters that have significant and possibly material impact to Abbott.
+ Directs and conducts periodic reviews and updates related to complex OEC policy and divisional/affiliate procedures ensuring clarity, applicability and compliance to OEC policy and external requirements.
+ Develops, updates, and implements OEC’s comprehensive training program on complex and highly complex OEC and affiliate policies and procedures.
+ Provides leadership and guidance on proposed commercial programs, identifies highly complex legal and regulatory issues, analyzes alternatives and works with Legal, as appropriate, to propose solutions to the business.
+ Oversees and directs all Compliance Review Committees at the divisional or affiliate level and provides input on violation process. Reviews internal trends and implement corrective actions.
+ Partners with business on compliance audits, oversees the fulfillment of auditor’s requests, acts as liaison between business and auditors during on-site activities, evaluates and responds to all complex and highly complex preliminary findings and recommendations, guides the business in preparing corrective action to address complex and highly complex findings and recommendations
+ Possesses solid knowledge of Abbott’s businesses and knowledge of the broader business impact.
+ Has direct reports with people management responsibility located in India. Able to foster open communication, accountability and development of the team.
+ Assists in selecting, recruiting, onboarding or otherwise training direct team and may also assist other OEC team members.
+ Has experience and knowledge with complex data management and integration into compliance monitoring and controls.
+ Understands and stays current on the legislation and regulatory framework impacting healthcare compliance throughout the India region.
**Position Accountability / Scope**
+ Accountable to the International Ethics and Compliance Office and executive-level country management.
+ Operates with some autonomy on assigned matters/business units have moderate impact to Abbott’s compliance program, and works with International Ethics and Compliance Officers on complex matters.
+ Provides guidance and direction to Compliance Managers, Coordinators, and Compliance Analysts.
+ Operates independently with well-defined expectations, checking in as needed with direct OEC leadership.
**Education & Experience:**
+ BS/BA required.
+ Advanced degree, such as JD, CPA, MBA, Masters relevant fields including Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences or equivalent work experience, preferred.
+ Minimum of 15 years’ experience, with exposure to business functions such as compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, governmental affairs, and/or finance
+ Advanced degrees in the following fields may substitute for 2 years’ experience e.g., JD, CPA, MBA, master’s relevant fields including Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences
+ Experience with Microsoft Office suite including but not limited to Excel file management, PowerPoint presentations.
+ Experience with data analytics. May include building, iterating, and managing reports and/or dashboards in relevant systems such as PowerBI or Tableau.
+ Must have strong English written and verbal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels.
+ Experience working in a company compliance department preferred.
