An understanding of Netezza, a data warehouse appliance, and SQL Server or Oracle databases is highly desired.
These tasks include but are not limited to:
Become proficient on all aspects of the current environment.
Become proficient in the current Informatica ETL job streams.
Responsible for building ETL streams to validate data loads.
Assist in the migration of current Informatica ETL job streams to the new ETL environment and make the necessary changes to ensure that incremental and a data transfer jobs work as expected.
Assist in the tuning of the new Informatica job streams to reduce daily load time.
Code and unit test modules/programs following program specifications and standards.
Responsible for unit testing including: documenting the test plan and documenting results of executing the test plan – if necessary develop data test sets.
Participate in various testing assignments including the development of detailed test plans.
Responsible for bug fixes and the support of end users during User Acceptance and rollout of the solution.
Lead/facilitate/participate in joint Application Design meetings with users and staff.
Complete all software configuration/turnover tasks according to documented procedures and best practices.
Contribute comments and feedback during walkthroughs of specifications, coding and test plans, as well as other construction and implementation deliverables.
Cleary and concisely communicate status of all assigned tasks to management according to published workflows.
Keep up to date on job related technical issues, new trends and product direction and be a resource for other team members.
Qualifications:
Experience working as a data warehouse designer or developer using Netezza appliance technologies, Microsoft SQL Server, Informatica (ETL) mappings and workflows or similar ETL tools is required.
The ability to develop or support programs using SQL and knowledge of one or more of the following: Informatica or similar ETL tool and Cognos or similar business intelligence tool is required.
A comprehensive understanding of the concepts and fundamentals of database structures and data warehousing, including dimensional modeling, metadata, data cleansing, security, technical standards and performance tuning, is required.
An understanding of data warehouse platforms and SQL Server or Oracle database management systems is required.
The ability to design a solution that clearly and efficiently addresses the business objectives identified and to create software architecture documents and models according to the system development methodology is required.
Experience with a systems development life cycle methodology is highly desired.
Experience with all phases of testing including unit, system, integration parallel, performance and user acceptance testing in highly desired.
Experience with job scheduling software (Cybermation) is desired.
Experience in using open source solutions and tools are desired.
Knowledge of open standards is desired.

Public Sector experience is preferred.
