Job Responsibilities:
- Obligated to execute all Safety-, Security-, Health- and Environmental policies on board.
- Make a planning and coordinating the daily work.
- Responsible for the safety, maintenance and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment on board, including permanent and temporary deck equipment.
- Ensure legislations, regulations and company requirements relevant to his daily operational responsibilities are being met.
- Delegate tasks and duties to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintaining the Planned Maintenance System.
- Responsible for the follow up of the Company QHSSE policies, procedures and standards within his divisions, and for all work activities under his authority, including subcontractors.
- As instructed by Chief Engineer: support role for the technical operation and Maintenance.
- Perform first line maintenance and troubleshooting for the vessel’s ICT network.
- Always comply with (inter)national legislation, flag state requirements, accepted industry standards, Company decrees and contracts.
- Contributes to the objective that the ship is always available to be deployed in a safe and efficient manner.
- To stop all activities whenever the safety of the crew, the ship or the environment is endangered or an unsafe, conflicting or non-conforming situation arises.
Job Requirements:
- 12 months in the rank of ETO
- Must be medically fit. A medical examination shall be issued in accordance with the requirements of the STCW Code / Flag State Administration. Due to local and/or client requirements there may be additional medical fitness certification required.
- Knowledge of the applicable codes, guidelines and standards.
- Knowledge of the equipment and procedures he is responsible for.
- Obligated to maintain secrecy regarding company and security information.
- Well versed with trouble shooting on PLC controlled or otherwise automated
systems.
- Knowledge of trouble shooting on DP systems.
- Well versed with maintenance on Frequency Drives.
