EUC Engineer
Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Desktop Engineer to manage, support, and optimize the desktop platforms and end-user infrastructure across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting large, complex desktop environments, particularly with VDI, Citrix, SCCM, Windows OS, and application deployment. You will be responsible for maintaining the desktop platform, deploying patches, creating deployment packages, and driving solutions for desktop-related escalations in the APAC region. As part of a global technology team, you will help develop and standardize desktop processes, and actively contribute to improving end-user experience and security.

Key Responsibilities: Desktop Platform Support & Management: Platform Maintenance: Support and maintain the desktop environment, including physical and virtual desktops (VDI), ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Global Patch Management: Participate in the global Desktop OS patch management process, ensuring timely deployment and compliance. Deployment & Custom Applications: Create deployment packages and custom applications in an enterprise environment using tools like SCCM, ensuring seamless installation and management. End User Services (EUS) Escalations: Act as the point of contact for APAC escalations, collaborating with regional EUS teams and bridging desktop engineering to resolve issues efficiently. Regional Nuances: Ensure that APAC-specific nuances are taken into account while adopting global standards and initiatives, ensuring regionally relevant solutions. Coaching & Mentorship: Coach and support the End User Services team and Service Desk teams through new and routine desktop-related tasks, promoting best practices and consistent service delivery. Technology Enhancement & Collaboration: Technology Recommendations: Identify and recommend new end-user technologies to enhance security, reliability, and user experience, ensuring continuous improvement. Global Technology Projects: Participate in global technology projects to provide insights on desktop and end-user experience, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Wintel, Network Engineers, and 3rd party support organizations to ensure smooth desktop platform operations. Process & Documentation: Workstation Standards: Develop and maintain global workstation standards, processes, and documentation, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization. Automation Integration: Be familiar with next-generation desktop platforms and leverage automation tools to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. Reporting & Metrics: Generate and maintain reports to track the team’s productivity and desktop platform performance. General Skills: Client-Focused Mindset: Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Mission-Critical Environment Experience: Experience working in mission-critical environments with a focus on uptime, reliability, and user experience. Industry Experience: A background in financial services or similar regulated industries is preferred, with a deep understanding of compliance and security standards. Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear, high-quality documentation for desktop platforms, processes, and procedures. VDI Expertise: Extensive experience supporting and troubleshooting VDI environments, as well as physical desktop environments. Desktop Transformation: Proven experience working on large-scale desktop transformation programs and optimizing desktop infrastructure. Profile Management & Optimization: Experience in managing profile optimization and Citrix policies to enhance user performance and desktop experience. Technical Skills: Citrix: XenDesktop/XenApp 7.15+ (administration, optimization, and troubleshooting) Microsoft Technologies: Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server) Microsoft Group Policy (configuration and troubleshooting) PowerShell (automation and scripting) SCCM 2012 R2+ (application deployment, patch management, OS deployment) App-V (application virtualization) Office365 (administration and troubleshooting) Microsoft Azure (integration with desktop environments) Appsense: Environment Manager (configuration and management) Performance Manager (user experience optimization) Application Manager (application security and management) Other Key Technologies: Thin Client technologies (management and support) VMware vSphere (virtual desktop infrastructure management) Skype for Business (management and troubleshooting) Sophos (endpoint protection) Lumension (patch management) ServiceNow (incident and request management) Logic Monitor & Systrack (performance monitoring and diagnostics) Soft Skills & Leadership: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex desktop and VDI environments. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including Service Desk, Wintel, and Network Engineers. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Adaptability to changing technologies and a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Working Hours: Willing to work in shift and weekend activities as needed, including on-call support for critical incidents.
