This is a European role, focused on growing acceptance and business volumes via the rapidly expanding Payment Facilitator and Payment Intermediary (e.g. Digital Wallet Operators and Buy Now Pay Later) channels. Our partners operate in a high-growth, dynamic environment offering payment facilitation solutions across a number of channels including eCommerce, POS/mPOS and In App. 

The core responsibilities will be to drive Amex business volume and acceptance by growing Amex spend and penetration within our existing Aggregator Partner portfolio and embedding new partnerships into the network.  

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

Establishing strong relationships with existing Payment Facilitators.  Drive existing and new growth opportunities to increase Amex coverage and billings through deep understanding of the partners business and identifying key growth opportunities e.g. marketing-led opportunities.  Negotiating complex contracts, leading partner-facing negotiations and developing the negotiation strategy.  Acquisition of new intermediary partners in the Digital Wallet and Buy Now Pay Later landscape by prospecting, contracting and implementing new partnerships.  Ensuring ongoing compliance with European Regulatory framework, Amex Policy and Contractual terms.  Working alongside a wide range of internal stakeholders to manage the day-to-day relationship with Partners, including Risk, Pricing, Servicing, Legal, Compliance, Policy and Global Strategy.  Become a subject matter expert for Payment Facilitation and Intermediary models within Amex, sharing knowledge and collaborating where necessary to deliver on wider business objectives. 

 

Experience/Requirements 

Extensive experience managing Large & Enterprise Partnerships and driving performance in a regulated environment through Business Development opportunities and contract negotiations.  Track record of identifying, engaging and launching new partnership opportunities in the merchant acquiring industry.  Excellent stakeholder management skills to maintain strong relationships built on credibility and trust both internally and within a broad network in partner organisations.  Deep knowledge and understanding of the European Payment Facilitator and payments landscape.  Comfortable working in a highly dynamic, fast paced and evolving environment.   Strategic approach to achieving results and delivering against annual targets, balancing quick wins to drive scorecard results alongside longer sales cycles.   Agility and adaptability, demonstrating innovative thinking and the ability to rapidly develop and adapt strategy as circumstances change.  Strong financial acumen - key elements include innovative commercial constructs, margin and revenue analysis.  Ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization, sharing knowledge, best practices and collaborating to drive greater alignment and streamlined processes.
