DuPont Water Solutions (DWS) is a $1.5B global business focused on solving global challenges in water purification, conservation, and reuse. DWS serves its thousands of customers in diverse markets through three major market segments: Industrial Water & Energy, Drinking Water & Desalination, and Life Science & Specialties.

Reporting to the Global Marketing Leader for Drinking Water and Desalination (DW&D) in the DuPont Water Solutions business, the European Marketing Manager (RMM) is part of the strategic marketing team and will be responsible for setting and leading the implementation of the European/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) regional market strategy for DW&D. The DW&D segment includes municipal drinking water, municipal wastewater, residential and commercial water, and desalination.

As a local champion of strategic marketing functional competencies, the RMM will develop a deep understanding of regional market trends, competitive landscape, and needs-based customer segmentation by market, as well as outline the regional implementation and communication plans.  The European RMM will be accountable for the long-term growth of the Drinking Water and Desalination market segment in EMEA and will support the commercial team with regional insights to facilitate accurate demand planning, pricing, and customer targeting at the segment-technology level. The ideal candidate is expected to personally demonstrate and cultivate a strong external focus and proactively develop close working relationships with local key customers and partners within the market segments that they support. 

In addition to the regional role, the RMM will be responsible for developing a where to play/how to win marketing strategy and formal marketing plans for the global desalination water market segment. They will also lead the global desalination water segment team in partnership with a technical lead to align on action plans around innovations, product launches, and application case studies.

Regional Responsibilities for European Regional Marketing Manager:

·   Develop regional marketing strategies and execution plans for pricing and route to market grounded on needs-based customer segmentation to drive regional sales and profitable growth aligned with global water market strategies in the segments within Drinking Water and Desalination. 

·   Monitor active sales pipeline at the customer level to have clarity on how to drive both short- and long-term growth as well as innovation strategies.

·   Collaborate with regional sales and technology leadership to ensure resources are effectively prioritized and aligned with market segment and technology objectives.  

·   Evaluate customer needs and preferences to identify market trends, new markets, and new innovations.  Drive execution of innovation launches and own the resulting regional growth performance within the Drinking Water and Desalination market vertical.

·   Leverage industry knowledge and market research to identify opportunities for regional expansion and provide the sales team targeted customer lists and customer profiles.

·   Analyze competitor activities and market trends to ensure DWS stays aware of the evolving landscape and of new markets for future growth.

Global Responsibilities for Desalination Segment:

·   Develop a where to play/how to win market strategy that ties into the DWS business strategy. Develop and document segment marketing plans.

·   Set global and regional target pricing working jointly with product management and fellow RMMs.

·   Partner with marketing communications to develop & implement appropriate communication strategies, including editorials, press releases, webinars, other digital and traditional media, as well as thought-leadership (where applicable) for the global desalination market segment.  Own website content and updates for the desalination segment (to be implemented by marketing communications). 

·   Develop innovation pipeline for global desalination market segment, partnering with research and development teams to manage the innovation portfolio.  Act as the project leader and advance critical innovation projects through the stage gate process, creating robust business cases and driving programs against externally focused milestones.  Develop robust launch packages. 

·   Analyze competitor activities and market trends to ensure DWS stays aware of the evolving landscape. 

Qualifications:

·   5-10 years of experience in marketing or market development

·   Demonstrated business and financial acumen with ability to collect and analyze data and communicate insights effectively.  Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar markets through primary research and analysis and develop strategic plans to address those markets.

·   A highly motivated and results-driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills.  A change agent who conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure.

·   Demonstrated success in working in diverse, cross functional teams.

·   Solid organization skills, including multi-tasking and attention to detail. Strong project management expertise. A strategic thinker.

·   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·   A university degree is required in a business or technical field; MBA is strongly preferred.

·   Ability to travel up to 25% of time.

·   Working in multi-cultural, multi-region experience preferred.

·   Preferred experience in water treatment industry.
