About the Position
The Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion High Pressure Turbine Airfoil Lead Design Engineer will report to the High Pressure Turbine Design Leader and will be responsible for the design and analysis of turbine airfoils for F110 sustaining and NPI programs.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, analysis, producibility, and qualification of sustaining and NPI HPT airfoil components.Mentor early career professionals in the turbine airfoil design discipline.Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical design engineering.Desired Characteristics
Minimum of 5 years' experience in design engineering.Relevant design and/or manufacturing experience of turbine airfoil hardware.Proficiency with ANSYS and NX Unigraphics.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
