Event Planning Specialist – Criminal Justice  

 

  

ICF seeks an Event Planning Specialist to support the Justice, Research, and Victim Services Portfolio. Will work closely with client representatives, external partner agencies, subject matter experts, and TTA providers, and grantees to collaborate on events and multimedia projects.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  

Client Consultation: Meeting with clients to understand their needs and preferences. 

Budget Management: Managing and budgeting finances for the event. 

Venue Selection: Choosing appropriate venues based on the type of event. 

Vendor Coordination: Maintaining partnerships with vendors, caterers, and other service providers. 

Logistics Management: Organizing audiovisual equipment, transportation, and accommodations. 

Event Design: Planning the event’s design, including decor, entertainment, and promotional materials. 

On-Site Management: Overseeing the setup, execution, and cleanup of the event. 

Problem-Solving: Handling any issues that arise during the event. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree Arts, Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality, Public Relations, or a related field. 

Minimum 4 years of experience in event planning for Federal government agencies, including event preparation, event registration, responding to general inquiries, providing logistical support, site selection, onsite meeting support, and compilation and basic analysis of evaluation forms/reports. 

Proven experience as an Event Planner or Coordinator. 

Excellent time management and communication skills. 

Ability to manage multiple projects independently. 

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. 

Proficiency in MS 365 Office applications. 

Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently. 

Ability to be flexible, detail-oriented, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment. 

Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to listen actively and empathetically. 

Excellent customer service skills. 

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:  

Certified Government Meeting Professional 

Experience in the criminal justice or victim services field.  

Experience working seamlessly with other contractors or vendors. 

Experience in management, marketing, leadership, planning and presentations.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$60,927.00 - $103,576.00
