Position Title: Event Services Coordinator
Department: Event Services
Reports To: Senior Event Manager or Director of Event Services
Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20.00 an Hour
Position Summary: Under general supervision, provides day-to-day support to the Event Services Managers and department
Essential Functions:
Coordinates revenue documentation and enhancement in Event ServicesAssist with radio calls, responses and briefings as requested.Assists with the service desk as directedHandles sub-contractors, orders, inspections, as needed to provide up-sell and coordinateCollects revenue as needed and assist with diagrams and fire regulations.Assists Event Managers with expediting audits, room inspections, special equipment request, diagrams, insurance and other backup materials for events.Coordinates appropriate building services on behalf of the Event Services department or crew leaders.Facilitates and maintains communication between tenants, contractors, and Event Services Managers for event needs.Communicates, organizes logistics, assists in implementation, and concludes follow-up closing items to include reconciliation of events as required.Administrative support to facilitate customer service as neededOther duties as assigned.Experience/Training/Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Desirable: Convention Center or major hotel experience
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
Knowledge of:
Terminology used in the convention, trade show, and entertainment business
Audio-video equipment and its uses
Set-ups and take-downs
Utilities (i.e., special lighting, booth wiring, compressed air, etc.)
Computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to:
Read, write and speak English
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Be detail oriented
Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times during the workday
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, employees, and the public
Skill to:
Operate modern office equipment, including computer, fax, phone, and copy machine
Operate a motor vehicle
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires lifting up to 50lbs. without assistance; walking long distances for more than 50% of the workday; some sitting, bending, and stooping may be required; subject to adverse conditions; irregular hours are required.
