Job Summary

The Experience Services Meeting and Event Setup Technician handles the setup and breakdown of meeting and event spaces at the client site. This role generally reports into the Events and Marketing Manager at the event site but may take direction from other members of the events team. This role is client facing and will regularly serve as one of the onsite contacts for event hosts during event execution, so the technician must be able to exhibit a thorough understanding of property/event space SOPs, practice swift troubleshooting, and possess clear communication skills while providing a calm and high-touch hospitality focused service. This position is required to have a flexible schedule based on event needs, often including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensures that meeting and event spaces are maintained in a clean and efficient manner, well stocked and ready pre-event, during event, and when resetting rooms.

· Handles set-up, breakdown, refreshing and resetting for all meeting and event spaces (tables, chairs, dancefloor, stage, room supplies, etc).

· Assist with coordinating activities of onsite meeting and events with events team, property departments, guests, and vendors.

· Operational knowledge of locations, functions, and proper usage of relevant equipment within the meeting and event spaces.

· Maintain inventory, suggest repair, storage or replacement of equipment.

· Be present in event space during high-activity times (vendor load-in, guest arrival/departure, meal serving, etc.) to answer questions and offer assistance swiftly.

· Respond to all meeting and event set-up requests in a timely manner, ensuring KPI compliance and excellent customer service.

· Collaborate with other service providers who support the meeting and event space (audio visual, catering, security, facilities, janitorial, and equipment providers).

· Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved or exceeded.

· Work with clients at all levels of an organization, including brides/grooms, family members, executives, etc.

· Assist the meeting and event coordinator/s with activities of onsite meetings and events, scheduling, catering set-ups as well as light janitorial support as needed in-the-moment.

· Follow safety rules and safe working practices.

· Performs all job responsibilities with initiative, integrity, and good judgement.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· 2+ years’ experience working in guest-facing, high-touch hospitality event environment, including managing room set-ups, for both social and corporate events.

· Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.

· Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft office suite, Outlook).

· The ability to learn and carry out basic operational skills for Audio Visual equipment.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Solution-oriented

· Adept in diffusing high-stress situations and kind complaint handling to ensure guests leave happy.

· Strong attention to detail, ability to complete work accurately and efficiently.

· Must be able stand/walk and lift up to 50 pounds and up to 75 pounds with assistance long periods of time.

· Ability to work independently with little supervision.

· Excellent service and teamwork skills; shows respect when dealing with customers and team members.
