Position Title Event Support Staff Position Type Staff Department AUXILIARY SRVS AND EVENT MGMT FLSA Non-Exempt Union/Non Union Non Union Full Time or Part Time Part Time Grade 5 Salary Range $16.30-$17.93/Hourly Hiring Salary Range Fixed Term/Tenure Track (Faculty Only) Regular or Temporary Regular Job Description Summary Event Support Staff will be responsible for assisting with the setting up and tearing down of resources (tables, chairs, stages, tents, rental items, etc.), reading and following daily event set-up summaries and diagrams, as well as, moving and storing event equipment. Responsibilities also include, reviewing common areas for the accurate arrangement of furniture and equipment, vacuuming floors between event transitions and assisting with placement and removal of signage. In addition, the Event Support Staff will review common areas for life safety issues related to furniture and equipment storage/placement on a daily basis. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required One year of job-related experience required Previous experience with handling furniture and equipment Criteria CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Participates in event set-ups and break downs, including but not limited to, chairs, tables, riser/stages, stanchions, lecterns, piano and dance floors Inspect the facility and report any maintenance or housekeeping concerns to Supervisor Use technology such as Social Tables or other event management software to collect information to complete daily assignments Report and track inventory concerns by the use of email and/or spreadsheets Create standardized check-lists to assist with completing technical set-ups Attend regularly scheduled and mandatory staff workshops and training sessions Works safely at all times, notifying the Lead or Supervisor immediately of any accidents/incidents Cleans event furniture when necessary As available and when necessary, may perform additional event production duties under the direction of Production Operations Manager, Center for Performing Arts. As available and when necessary, may perform cashier or other duties related to Box Office operations within the Center for Performing Arts under the direction of Box Office Coordinator, Center for Performing Arts Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8‐hours in length Must be able to read and comprehend room diagrams and layouts Must be able to deal with outside elements such as wind, rain, snow, and heat Flexible hours – on call, evenings and weekends Must be able to move and lift equipment, tables, chairs, audio equipment, food service items, supplies and materials.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
