Job SummaryThis position is responsible for managing medium size audio visual projects and coordinating all aspects of audio visual and video teleconferencing support activities including executive/ customer driven meetings and events at various geographic locations across the enterprise with some supervision and guidance. This role includes integrating Audio-Visual equipment with Information Technology equipment including but not limited to PC’s, telephone systems, and the internal network and as such serves as a liaison between Information Technology technical personnel and all application end users to ensure customer business needs are met. This requires the ability to understand intermediate level technical infrastructure and issues and effectively communicate between technical support professionals and non-technical end users including all levels of management, executives, and an organizationally diverse customer base. Possess an intermediate level understanding of multiple Audio Visual, video and Web based conferencing and Information technology areas, industry directions, regulatory requirements/issues, and customer business needs. This position is owner of and is responsible for implementing upgrades on firmware and software on all Audio-Visual equipment for the Enterprise.
ResponsibilitiesServes as a project manager and consultant for the planning, design, implementation and maintenance of effective audio visual and video teleconference systems.
Evaluates and recommends upgrades and enhancements.
Serves as a subject matter expert for enterprise Audio Visual design.
Works independently with little direct supervision or review.
Demonstrates knowledge of and executes standard IT design, installation, maintenance, security, and change management processes.
Performs process-monitoring activities and effectively uses process measures to identify and improve on processes.
Demonstrates sound engineering practices in system design and problem resolution.
Administers, design and implementation of Audio Visual and Video Conference activities. Evaluates project and equipment requirements, assembles timelines, coordinates internal and external resources, supervises technical activities and provides technically specialized consultations.
Consults with partners on Audio Visual systems design, integration, and installation for training, conference rooms, video conference rooms, informational centers and new buildings. Coordinates and oversees vendor’s activities for these activities.
Prepares project schedule and budget.
Audio Visual Operations Management: This requires a high level of interpersonal and organizational skill with advanced knowledge of complex audio visual, network and remote control equipment set-up, installation and operation.
Evaluates project and equipment requirements, assembles timelines, coordinates internal and external resources, supervises technical activities and provides technically specialized consultations of Audio Visual and Video Conference activities.
Serves as project liaison between customer and vendors technical support teams. Requires excellent negotiation and influencing skills and ability to establishing and maintaining clear communications among all stakeholders to ensure projects success.
Oversee in-house Audio Visual support equipment, ensures that all requests have proper documentation with pertinent information to guarantee request are met. Oversees scheduling of equipment, personnel and other resources including outside vendors and suppliers for resources not available through internal sources. Oversees equipment maintenance ensuring safety and reliability of equipment and systems.
Administers management of inventory control and project tracking database to insure that all projects, equipment requests and inventory is accounted for.
Operates AV equipment including sound systems, video conference, and video production equipment for onsite and offsite events where needed.
Provides technical expertise and support for video teleconferencing projects and facilities.
Demonstrates in depth knowledge of video teleconferencing technology and working knowledge of supporting areas.
Manages and initiates point-to-point and multi-point calls with the primary systems, to ensure a successful connection.
Confirms system compatibility between company and non-company locations, provides technical support when possible between all parties involved to assure best possible system operations in a point-to-point or multi-point call.
Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed equipment or system specifications and evaluate proposals.
Works with the IT department during system testing, installations, etc…
Has working knowledge of the application of video teleconference technologies to the business.
Deals with complex, inter-system-related issues.
Utilizes and applies emerging technologies appropriately.
Has working knowledge of common practices in the video teleconference industry.
Coordinates with vendors for videoconferencing multi-point bridging, network and communications issues and system repair and maintenance.
Participates in vendor negotiations and feedback.
Management for Special Events: Interfaces with all levels of management, counsels on creation and development of event staging, equipment requirements, theatrical and graphical treatments and resources required for executive presentations, corporate conferences and seminars for both onsite and offsite events. This requires experience in production management, complex system integration and graphics presentation.
Accurate and clear communications with stakeholder both written and verbal, regarding project management, production operations, venue specifications and event procedures. The incumbent must accurately describe the technical details and anticipate any foreseen issues.
Works closely with Senior Management and stakeholders for high level meetings and events by determine the scope of the projects, timetables and schedules. (i.e. Employee Meetings, Open Forum, Exec Customer Meetings).
Provides venue floor plans and technical diagrams for review and approval.
Evaluates, recommends and coordinates resources required for projects to insure success
Remains current on new technologies
Required/Basic Qualifications:Associates degree
Minimum 3 years related work experience
In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 3 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 year(s) related work experience

Working ConditionsHybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
