Events Activation Manager

Job Summary:

The Events Activation team is a virtual center of marketing professionals with specialized knowledge delivering extraordinary results from strategy to consultation and planning to execution. The Events Activation Manager is responsible for managing and delivering the highest quality BDO-branded live and online event interactions for our clients, contacts and prospects and driving and monitoring related activities with firm and account teams’ business and go-to-market strategies.

Job Duties:

Serves as key point person with business partners (marketing, business development, partners, professional staff) to keep all functional areas updated on key initiatives for assigned programs, as well as provide appropriate support to each group Consults on event strategy, objectives and program goals and makes recommendations to achieve minimum spend for maximum impact Plays an integral role in managing communication and logistics throughout the planning process Works closely with event management colleagues to create opportunities for cross-firm collaboration in events Implements processes and best practices to benchmark and measure program objectives Possesses knowledge of contractual language as it pertains to meetings and events and applies this understanding during deliveries Negotiates with vendors to achieve maximum value for the best product and services Manages event budgets and ensures accuracy in developing estimates, working and actual spends Handles all event audio-video production from creative concept to final production Helps to develop success measures and evaluates all events against objectives, recommending areas for improvement Coordinates and leads the invitation and registration process Offers on-site supervision or transition, as necessary Performs post-event duties such as expense processing, invoice reconciliation, evaluations, sharing feedback with event team, marketing colleagues, and other stakeholders Champions the BDO brand in all event marketing activities Understands and anticipates industry trends and issues and provides strategic insight and solutions

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Helps train and supervise team members Tracks employee performance and reports progress to Events Activation Director during planned GROW meetings, as needed Serves as a coach/mentor, supporting the career development and performance of team members

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications, required

Experience:

Five (5) or more years of marketing / event planning experience in a professional service firm, required Two (2) or more years of experience working in the accounting, financial consulting, business advisory and/or professional services industries, preferred

License/Certifications:

N/A

Software:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required CRM experience, preferred

Language:

Strong planning, managing, and coordinating skills  Active listener and interpreter with the ability to transform the client’s thoughts into reality  Ability to understand the context of the event and the type of guests attending Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to present and facilitate planning meetings Experience planning budgets, negotiating and communicating with the clients Enthusiastic and able to create motivation amongst the team members Critical thinker and problem solver Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.   National Range: $85,000 - $95,000 Maryland Range: $85,000 - $95,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $95,000
