What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking an Events and Communications Consultant to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will support Communications and Change Management transformation efforts for federal clients focus on emergency management. The Consultant will support the develop Change Management Strategies and Strategic Communications efforts under the direction of a Senior Consultant to foster adoption of federal priorities that build community resilience to manmade hazards and natural threats.  

The Consultant will be responsible for the following:

Support the development of change management and communications strategies and accompanying implementations plans

Support stakeholder analyses and the development of stakeholder personas and journey maps

Support the development of stakeholder engagement approaches and initiatives

Support the development of multi-channel communications products for communicating with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders

Assist in developing metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of change and communications initiatives and activities

Assist in preparing for and leading internal and external stakeholder discussions, client meetings, and leadership briefings

Support multiple concurrent assignments while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products

Support the preparation of a wide range of briefing materials and concise summaries of assessments, evaluations, and plans to communicate program status and progress to senior leaders


What You Will Need:

Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust

Bachelor’s degree

TWO (2) years experience related to Communications or Public Safety or Public Information, Event Planning and/ or Crisis Management

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications

Experience supporting a public safety mission at the local, State, Tribal, or Territorial government level

Overseeing and supporting public appearances, press conferences, media interviews, community meetings, and other stakeholder engagements

Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal, especially in times of crises

Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships

Willingness to travel domestically to support client conferences, events, and engagements

Experience working with elected officials

The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00-$124,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
