Events Manager
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the company’s presence at large industry conferences and corporate events. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! **Responsibilities** **Event Planning and Strategy** + Develop and execute comprehensive plans for the company’s participation in large industry conferences, tradeshows, and sponsored events. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align event goals with marketing strategy and business objectives, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence. + Research and recommend high-value event engagement opportunities and industry events that align with business goals for maximum ROI. **Event Logistics and Coordination** + Manage end-to-end logistics, including event design and setup, registration, production team, vendor coordination, travel arrangements, and on-site operations. + Serve as the primary point of contact with event organizers, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements are met. + Oversee shipping, storage, and setup of promotional materials, technology demonstrations, and booth components. **Creative Development and Messaging** + Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to develop event design, collateral, and digital assets that reflect the company’s brand and messaging. + Craft compelling content for events, including signage, presentations, and interactive experiences. + Ensure consistent brand representation across all touchpoints. **Engagement and On-Site Leadership** + Lead on-site teams during events, ensuring smooth execution and troubleshooting issues as they arise. + Train and coordinate company representatives attending events to maximize engagement and impact. + Capture leads and feedback for post-event follow-up and reporting. **Budget and Metrics Management** + Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines. + Track event performance metrics, including lead generation, audience engagement, and ROI, and provide post-event analysis and recommendations for improvement. **Other Duties** + As-needed support for executive and employee events. + Serve as a resource for other company event needs. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Hospitality or a related field. + 5+ years of experience in event planning and management in government contracting or related industries. + Highly organized, able to manage several high-profile projects at a time, using timelines and tracking tools to ensure deliverables are thoughtfully developed and executed. + Proven track record of managing large-scale events and sponsorships. + Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple events simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. + Strong creative and strategic thinking skills. + Thrives in fast-paced and dynamic event planning environments. + Experience engaging with corporate executives, managing event needs and coordination + Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience collaborating across departments. + Proficiency in event management tools, CRM software, and marketing platforms. + Willingness/ability to travel frequently to attend and oversee events. + This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA. **Preferred Skills** + Knowledge of government contracting industry trends and standards. + Experience working with external agencies, vendors, and creative teams. + Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools, including Adobe products. + Experience navigating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure goals and objectives are being met and not missed. **Job ID** 2025-16386 **Work Type** Hybrid **Company Description** **Work Where it Matters** Akima is not just another global enterprise and federal contractor.
