**Description**
**Position Summary:** The Event Space Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of event spaces, including spaces for retreats, workshops, weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings. This role involves building relationships with potential clients, understanding their event needs, and providing tailored solutions to create memorable & exceptional experiences. The ideal candidate is results-driven, customer-focused, and possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills.
**Essential Job Functions:**
**Sales & Business Development**
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities for event space sales across various sectors (corporate, community, social, and educational).
2. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and market research.
3. Conduct outreach to prospective clients, promoting the unique features and advantages of the event spaces.
4. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet and exceed revenue targets.
5. Maintain a thorough understanding of the features, capacities, and configurations of all event spaces offered.
6. Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and market demands to provide innovative suggestions and improvements.
7. Regularly review and adjust sales strategies to align with current market trends.
**Client Relationship Management**
1. Meet with clients to understand their event needs, including the type of event, expected attendance, desired atmosphere, and any specific requirements.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales process, ensuring a seamless transition to the event operations team upon booking.
3. Foster long-term relationships with past clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
**Event Coordination and Collaboration**
1. Work closely with the event operations team to ensure client requirements are clearly communicated and understood.
2. Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to create and implement promotional strategies, social media campaigns, and client engagement initiatives.
3. Assist in coordinating event logistics as needed to ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, event details, and sales pipeline updates.
5. Track and report on sales metrics, including leads generated, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
6. Complete any necessary documentation, including contracts and payment processing in coordination with the finance team.
**Other job requirements**
1. Regular and reliable attendance and ability to work weekends to meet the needs of the client and internal teams.
2. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements.
3. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
4. Must represent and express the mission, vision and values of Unity World Headquarters.
5. This is not a remote position although you are able to work from home on occasion with your supervisor’s approval.
**Non-Essential Job Functions** .
1. Demonstrates the ability to positively influence other departments by proactively building relationships with events team as well as security, food services, special services, communications, etc.
2. Serve as back up to assigned events and retreats, and support team in executing events.
**Qualifications**
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred).
**Experience and Skills:**
1. Three years program/event project management experience or related sales meeting and event planning experience.
2. Proven experience in sales, preferably in event space, hospitality, or related fields.
3. Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
5. Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
7. Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings or weekends, if required by client needs.
**Computer Skills:** Proficient end user of MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with project management software a plus
