Everyday Northwest Lifestyle Show Intern (unpaid)

WANTED: Hard-working interns for the innovative lifestyle show Everyday Northwest on KRCW-TV. You must be interested in new trends, local happenings, entertainment, lifestyle, cooking, technology, and FUN.

SEMESTERS AVAILABLE: Opportunity available all terms.

SCHEDULE: Weekday morning availability REQUIRED. Hours: M-F 8a-11a; 15 hours per week

WANTED: Hard-working interns for the innovative lifestyle show Everyday Northwest on KRCW-TV. You must be interested in new trends, local happenings, entertainment, lifestyle, cooking, technology, and FUN.

During this internship, you will:

Gain an understanding of the time and planning that goes into creating a one -hour, daily television show by attending post-show meetings, greeting and helping situate guests, helping with set-up and clean-up, etc.Assist in segment planning and shoots, greeting guests, prop setup, and assist with adding web and social media content.Have opportunities to assist at promotional events, attend shoots with talentAid producers with writing scripts by proofreading and printing scripts and run downs, confirming guests’ names and spelling, researching business information, etc.Other potential duties include: assist in technical aspects such as running prompter, and logging footage for use in the show.Assist with camera operationAssume responsibility for booking 1 guest.Create content for new/ all social media platforms.Learn about networking and creating relationships in the community to assist with booking community related segments/ guests.Learn technical aspects of a Lifestyle show in the “Show Booth” alongside the Line Producer and Director

Applicants must have:

1. Ability to work weekday mornings required

2. Computer and social media skills

3. Good communication, multi-tasking skills

4. Work well under pressure

5. Positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning

The KOIN 6 internship program provides college students interested in journalism and communications, as well as sales and marketing, a unique opportunity. The hands-on experience allows students to get an in-depth look into the field of broadcast and digital media from an array of perspectives and challenges students to use their knowledge in an applied industry setting.

All positions are for college credit only, up to 16 hours per week, and usually last 8 to 12 weeks.

Criteria for acceptance:

Interns must be full-time students enrolled at a college or university, either in or entering into their junior or senior year. Interns must receive academic credit for their internship assignment.Internships are unpaid and all interns must provide a letter from their academic advisor certifying they are a junior or senior and will be receiving academic credit for participation in and the completion of their internship. Your application will not be considered without this documentation.Interns need to set up an hourly schedule in advance with their supervisor that will sufficiently meet their school’s required credit hours.Interns are to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined in the internship descriptions and other tasks as assigned by their supervisors.

The Intern will receive direct and close supervision by an appropriate supervisor. This is an unpaid Internship and the Intern is not entitled to wages or any compensation or benefits for the time spent in the internship. We do not provide paid parking. Company is not liable for injury sustained or health conditions that may arise for the unpaid intern during the internship.
