EVP, Analytics
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for oversight and leadership of the Bank’s Analytics and Credit Scorecard Programs (‘Programs’). Serves as a leader and ambassador of the Analytics group and assists with all aspects of the Programs, including developing repeatable, auditable, and sustainable processes; reporting and analysis to inform Executive Management and assist with first line credit risk management. Supports data, business, and forward-looking analytics for all programs, which includes capital and CRE stress testing, Credit Risk Scorecards, Current Expected Credit Losses (‘CECL’), portfolio analytics, market, and economic analytics, etc. Directly manages staff and/or other managers with equivalent or less senior titles. Essential Job Functions Leads and manages the development of sustainable, auditable, and repeatable processes to support Programs that enhance first-line credit risk management. Managers and/or provides delivery of analytical support to Executive and first line management, as well as business units across the enterprise, with a focus on the commercial and consumer loan portfolios. Leads and/or manages the development and implementation of a recurring schedule of analytics reporting on the Bank’s commercial and consumer loan portfolio using SAS, R, VBA, PL/SQL, PowerBI, and/or other tools. Directly manages staff and managers within the Analytics team. Collaborates on the development and implementation of strategic data initiatives that provide consistent and reliable access to data sources, reporting, and analytics across the enterprise. Oversees analytics processes to extract and mine data to that support Bank initiatives, which may include capital and CRE stress testing, Current Expected Credit Losses, Credit Risk Scorecards, and/or other projects. Executes and implements complex models in support of Analytics initiatives. Leads meetings with stakeholders to assist with the conveyance of purpose, outline of expectations, and collaboration on the development of Programs. Leads or manages development of analytics to assess market and economic risk. Serves as the primary subject matter expert for the Analytics Department. Develops framework, program, and process documentation for all Analytics activities. Oversees the completion of all Analytics projects and ensures adherence to required timelines. Communicates the status of projects to the the Managing Director and project stakeholders. Provides the Board with updates on strategic and/or critical Analytics initiatives. Develops and leads training to business unit managers and stakeholders. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. Follows Bank policy, procedure, and guidelines. Performs other duties as may be required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience using analytical software such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, Power BI and/or Tableau. Experience performing trend and root cause analyses. Knowledge of modeling principles and processes, and data quality fundamentals and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and execute queries and/or reporting for large data sets. Ability to use critical thinking and creativity to solve business problems. Ability to document procedures for execution of structured queries and reporting code. Ability to operate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment, with exacting deadlines. Ability to manage multiple work streams and deliverables, and coordinate across functional initiatives. Ability to produce high-quality documents, presentations, and analyses. Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Basic Qualifications Master degree in business administration, accounting, finance, business analytics, or related discipline, or commensurate work experience, required. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in analytics, business intelligence, data management, consumer credit, commercial credit, or related fields, required. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience with SAS, R, Python, or SQL preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience developing and executing queries and/or reporting for large data sets, preferred.
