EVP, Pacific North Regional Manager - Commercial Insurance

We are looking for a results oriented, dynamic leader to achieve the growth and profit goals of the Pacific North Commercial Insurance book of business.
Responsibilities:
The Commercial Insurance Regional Manager is responsible for driving the profit and growth of the commercial insurance book for the Pacific North Region of approximately $625MM gross written premium including $428MM of P&C premium, $187MM of financial lines premium and $10MM of A&H premium. The Commercial Insurance Regional Manager is directly accountable for driving profitable new business production, rate and retention efforts for all commercial insurance businesses across the region.
Specific responsibilities include:
Directly manage the CI Managers in the Regions (including performance management and compensation) Also accountable for the effective management of new hire onboarding, training and developing, succession planning, culture of inclusion, coaching and mentoring and retention of staff. Ensure effective deployment of staff for assigned locations; maintain mentoring relationship with several top talent underwriters within the regions. Oversee workflows, staffing resources, and appropriate application of technology to ensure efficient, cost-effective field operation. Driving tactical execution of all components of the business plan P&L - Accountability (premium, profitability, growth, rate, retention) for middle market serviced within the Regions. Portfolio Management/LOB - Direct profit and loss responsibility for field business; coordination, agency management, and production responsibility across CI product portfolio. Underwriting strategy execution – Works with region CI Managers to achieve new business underwriting and renewal underwriting results throughout the Region. Corporate underwriting audit – Accountable for underwriting quality and achieving of satisfactory score with underwriting authority violations below the allowed threshold. Marketplace focus – Lead the development of opportunities particular to the marketplace and provide customized approaches on market conditions and agency needs. Marketing strategy and execution - Works closely with leadership team and Field Operations on development and execution of marketing strategy for entire portfolio of CI business Senior contact for the larger Commercial Insurance clients in the Region. Business development - Directs business development activities and provides guidance for implementing sales and/or product launches. Producer management - Primary responsibility for managing regional/local producer plant; responsible for cohesive and consistent agency management strategies across assigned locations. Facilitates product education/appetite; serves as point person for key local producer relationships. Expense administration – Collaborate with the Region Commercial Insurance Managers and home office to ensure effective expense administration for assigned branches.
