Position Summary
Environmental Services Technicians will provide cleaning and disinfecting services to maintain an environment that is safe for patient care. Duties will include, but not limited to, cleaning and disinfecting all interior spaces within the hospital including patient rooms, procedure rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, nurse stations, clinical and non-clinical work spaces, waiting rooms, lobbies, vestibules, elevators, stairwells, break rooms, utility rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility. Additional duties may include, but not limited to lifting, moving, relocating waste, linen, furnishings, equipment, etc.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, infection prevention guidelines and safety standards.
2. Cleans and disinfects all spaces within the hospital environment using ProMedica’s 7-step cleaning process, which includes tasks such as removing waste, removing soiled linens, dusting, wiping surfaces, making beds, stocking supplies, changing curtains, cleaning floors, and more.
3. Provides customer service to patients, visitors, clinical partners, and non-clinical partners through friendly, professional behavior.
4. Must be flexible in work assignments as facility/department needs dictate.
5. Maintains equipment and supplies by using them as assigned and as instructed. Returns supplies in clean, good condition after use or at the end of shift.
6. Works safely including performing hand hygiene when required, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed, and abiding by the department’s appearance and dress code policy.
7. Completes ongoing education, such as eLearning and in-services, as assigned and on time.
8. Utilizes computers and mobile devices to communicate with coworkers, document assignment completion, monitor time and attendance, etc.
9. Maintains accurate and complete records of work completed through the use of assignment task sheets.
10. Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials. Removes waste and soiled linens from work areas and places in specified locations for removal from facility.
11. Sets up chairs and tables for special facility events as requested and removes/stores after event as directed.
12. Other duties as assigned or requested by EVS Management.
