Position Purpose
The Executive Assistant will support one or more of Sleep Number's C-Suite Executive leaders and holds a variety of senior level administrative, organizational, and project-based responsibilities. Success in this role requires an experienced and decerning professional who thrives in a results-driven, fast-paced environment, who can juggle multiple priorities, and who can exercise creativity and good judgement in a variety of situations.
As an Executive Assistant at Sleep Number, you play an integral role in managing the day-to-day needs of your leader(s) and contribute to the Executives’ efficiency and effectiveness through acting on business insights, making informed decisions, proactive planning and acting with agility. The Executive Assistant is also responsible for procedure and operational management of the function’s leadership team mechanisms including project management and meeting coordination.
Primary Responsibilities
Effectively manage upcoming priorities and ensure leadership is prepared to accomplish objectives with materials and business recaps needed demonstrating foresight.Support Executive(s) and leadership team by preparing for operating meetings and other repeating department mechanisms.Create and collect content to compile PowerPoint presentations, prepare agendas, send pre-reads & recaps as needed, manage logistics, and ensure that everything runs smoothly during meetings. Build cross-functional internal relationships, including partnering closely with other Executive Assistants who support C-level, VP and Director level leaders.Navigate complex calendaring through Outlook to ensure efficiency and maximum use of leader's time, effectively navigating changing priorities as they occur.Plan and organize travel, proactively anticipating and managing travel-related issues and coordination leveraging knowledgeable of individual travel patterns and preferences.Ensure all correspondence is accurate, complete, and properly handled.Pursue opportunities to change or lean out processes or approaches.Demonstrate initiative, discretion, and tact to respond quickly to and anticipate needs. Operate as a liaison between leaders, team members, and cross-functional partners. Act as a key partner on special projects as needed.Position Requirements
Progressive administrative assistant experience with prior experience successly supporting one or multiple C-Suite Executives.Project management experience strongly desired.Four-year degree preferred or equivalent experience.Strong communication skills (clarity, spelling, dictation, oral).Demonstrated expertise in organization, planning, scheduling and time management including strong program management and meeting support.Organized and detail-oriented with ability to create order out of chaos.Ability to know what matters by understanding and learning key strategic material, intellectually curious and consistent learner.Tenacious and driven and highly organized with ability to keep pace of the department.Ability to establish trust and handle confidential information.Capacity to be aware of, control, and express your emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.Experience driving the organizing and preparation of events.Proficient with Office 365 including expertise with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.Skilled at creating professional and visually sophisticated PowerPoint presentations.Virtual meeting set up and planning skills.Working Conditions
This position is located at Sleep Number’s Minneapolis headquarters and onsite presence is expected.Overtime work may be required, as requested and pre-approved by the Executive leader. This position requires the ability to use a computer and sit or stand for at least 8 hours per workday.Wellbeing
