Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Provides executive administrative support to a Corning Optical Communications (COC) leadership team member and members of their staff.
Roles & Responsibilities Handles details of items that are highly confidential and critical in nature daily Point of contact for outside companies at the executive leadership level Contacts internal and external executive leadership on matters that are of a sensitive nature to the company Management of senior leader during business hours and after hours when required (business and personal) Interface directly with Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Corporate Officers, and their executive assistants Manage all aspects of calendar, phone, and travel for business and personal needs Event planning: Offsite executive meetings and events including team building Manage and process expense reports using Concur Proactively directs, collects, and prepares information for use in discussions and meetings for the senior leader, internal and external individuals, customer meetings, as well as materials for high level corporate meetings (internal and external) Manage complex travel arrangements (both domestic and international) and proactively stay ahead of changes including management of all travel documents and management of corporate aircraft requests (business and personal) as required Manage and maintain supplies for the office Initiate and manage purchase order processes and procedures Provide administrative back up support to senior level management Experiences/Education - Required Associate’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Administrative and/or Executive Assistant roles supporting senior level leaders/executives in a corporate setting Communication Expert: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with all levels. Strong organizational and administrative skills, superb attention to detail, focus on error-free work and follow up to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner Strategic Thinking: Highly motivated, self-starter, detail oriented and anticipates senior leader’s needs. Strong crisis management, decision making/problem solving skills and balanced judgement while always maintaining professional demeanor. Must be able to foresee large and small obstacles or opportunities ahead of time to alleviate complexity. The leader should feel organized and supported. Innovative: Well-networked within Corning, leads by example, looks for new ideas and bases decisions on the needs of the leader. Exercises a high level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality Time Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively in a high-pressure and fast paced environment with minimal supervision. The range for this position is $60,530.00 - $83,230.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
