This position serves as an executive-level, confidential staff assistant to the Chief, Assistant Chief, and other executive command staff of the Minnesota State Patrol. The position is responsible for the operation and management of the Office of the Chief and provides advanced professional administrative and operational support. Due to the highly responsible and confidential tasks performed, including discipline and knowledge of contract negotiations, the position is politically sensitive and classified as confidential. The incumbent respects the Office of the Chief on matters delegated and is a confidential employee requiring a great degree of discretion. **Minimum Qualifications** One (1) year of experience providing administrative support at an executive or senior management level. Experience to include the following: + Advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical skills sufficient to apply principles and practices of office management in planning, organizing, and reviewing work and/or information. + Knowledge of and experience with a variety of computer software applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Visio. + Ability to work independently and under very limited supervision, determine priorities and manage multiple projects using sound judgement to make decisions in solving problems and drawing conclusions. + Word processing skills sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs. + Human relations skills sufficient to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a variety of customers, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively and comfortably with state and agency leadership. + Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. **Preferred Qualifications** + Prior Executive Level administrative support experience. + Knowledge of State of Minnesota and Minnesota State Patrol policies, procedures, and practices. **Physical Requirements** Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently.
