Executive Assistant to the EVP, Business Affairs

Your role as an Executive Assistant to the EVP, Business Affairs: You will provide daily administrative support to the Executive Vice President, Business Affairs. You will perform a variety of clerical duties, including but not limited to, composing correspondence, maintaining communication, managing special projects and partnering with both internal and external clients. All the responsibilities we will trust you with: * Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results, through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community * Performing administrative and project support duties, utilizing independent judgment, considerable discretion, initiative and tact * Maintaining discretion of information that may be sensitive in nature with executive leadership within the Padres organization, Corporate Partnerships department, the baseball community and the general public * Providing general administrative support for the EVP and department leaders, including but not limited to, making copies, filing, running errands, ordering and picking up lunches, booking appointments, and other tasks as assigned * Providing clerical assistance for the EVP, including screening incoming calls, mail, and faxes. Receiving and responding to internal and external communications in a timely manner * Support executive by managing their calendar, completing expense reports, creating spreadsheets and power point presentations as requested * Composing correspondence and other communication, including emails and letters * Serve as the gatekeeper to the EVP, Business Affairs and partner closely with other executives to manage priorities and workflow * Manages special projects related to the department as assigned by the EVP, Business Affairs * Greeting and assisting visitors/clients, including providing basic business hospitality. Arranging travel and accommodations for out-of-town VIP visitors and act as the EVP’s stand in for VIP guests when the EVP is unavailable * Assist other members of the team with organizing and arranging lunches for staff and clients * Interacting with members of the Padres organization on a daily basis with regard to dealings with the Revenue Departments * Attending meetings, taking and transcribing minutes as required and acting as the proxy for the EVP when asked * Participating in planning of special events and hospitality as required by the Revenue Departments * Arranging external facilities as necessary for meetings on behalf of the Revenue Departments * Assist executive with managing personal appointments, personal travel arrangements and other administrative tasks that the executive needs assistance with * Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times * Other duties as assigned Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: * Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer * Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner * Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines * Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability * Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Business, Sports Management, or related field * Minimum 3 years previous administrative experience in office setting. Experience working with an executive or manager is highly preferred * Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus * Able to work flexible hours including Padres home games, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed * Able to travel as needed * Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Pay and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base pay range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $75,000. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
