Sodexo is seeking an experienced chef to join the team as an Executive Chef 3 at Yale New Haven Hospital, York Street located in New Haven, CT.

 

The Executive Chef 3 will report to the Executive Chef 4 and provide culinary leadership through menu planning and program execution while maintaining kitchen operations, driving patient satisfaction through patient feeding and ensuring food safety. The ideal candidate will have prior union, experience working in large hospital, high-volume accounts, inventory management/food ordering experience, ability to control food and labor costs, strong leadership skills, excellent client and customer interaction skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

 

The successful candidate will:

implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospitalmanage, direct, and mentor frontline staffprocurement and purchasingcreate menus based on client needsimplement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering, and patient servicescreate interpersonal relationships with client

 

We are looking for candidates who have:

a strong culinary background in a high-volume environmentstrong management skills and experiencemenu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trendsproficient computer skills, highly organized, and detail-focuseda proven ability to set up processes, create efficiencies, and solve problems with little to no direction ServSafe Certified with proven working knowledge of HAACP

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
