JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness is responsible for:
ā¢ the achievement of services, goals and objectives and acts as liaison with all divisions to ensure
day-to-day operations of institutional effectiveness are handled appropriately;
ā¢ planning, organizing, and directing the collegeās accreditation, effectiveness, grants, research,
strategic planning, and related processes and reviews.
MAJOR DUTIES
Leads the department of Institutional Research & Effectiveness: 10%
ā¢ Manages and oversees the financial/budget of the department
ā¢ Monitors activities of personnel to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
ā¢ Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals
ā¢ Conducts regular evaluation of department services and adjusts as needed
ā¢ Coordinates daily workflow and handles complex departmental administrative issues
ā¢ Serves as representative of TCSG or technical college in various internal and external
meetings
Responsible for designing and executing a plan for maintaining accreditation status for
the college and academic programs: 20%
ā¢ Leads the collegeās compliance with the Principles of Accreditation for the SACSCOC
reaffirmation, substantive changes, and annual reporting
ā¢ Serves as the SACSCO Liaison for the College
ā¢ Maintains up-to-date on all SACSCOC polices and changes to ensure compliance
Manages all aspects the Collegeās federal Carl D Perkins budget including the PLANAR and
the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) 10%
Coordinates and oversees the strategic planning process for the college: 10%
ā¢ advises college administration and other staff on progress, problems, solutions and
desirable changes in relation to strategic planning;
ā¢ schedules and conducts meetings to present, explain and discuss the strategic plan with
individuals and groups;
ā¢ compiles and distributes annual reports
ā¢ establishes time frames needed to complete projects according to federal, state, external
agency, and department deadlines
Analyzes institutional and workforce data and reporting with regards to: 10%
ā¢ workforce needs relative to enrollment, program planning, and job placement
ā¢ coordinates the institutional research needed to evaluate the collegeās effectiveness
ā¢ benchmarks and compares to other institutions
Coordinates the application, acceptance, and implementation of grants 10%
Coordinates the Collegeās survey development and implementation 10%
Coordinates the collection and reporting of program goals, outcomes, and objectives for
quality assurance: 10%
ā¢ analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs;
ā¢ prepares and updates planning documents;
ā¢ reviews reports of independent project efforts to determine areas of weakness;
ā¢ recommends corrective actions and sets deadline;
ā¢ provides interpretations and guidance to college personnel to ensure compliance with
state, regional and federal regulations;
ā¢ collects, analyzes and organizes data for input into planning and evaluation activities;
provides evaluative services that ensure the ability to examine the effectiveness of
academic programs and services;
Leads the update, approval, and implementation process for the Collegeās Standard
Operating Polices & Procedures 5%
Other duties as assigned 5%
COMPETENCIES
ā¢ Knowledge of academia structure and understanding of higher education
ā¢ Supervisory skills
ā¢ Skills and knowledge in budgeting and fiscal management
ā¢ Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
ā¢ Oral and written communication skills
ā¢ Ability to provide leadership and direction to administrators and staff in developing, implement
and evaluating programs
ā¢ Ability to analyze complex, statistical and narrative data regarding the assigned program
ā¢ Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
ā¢ Knowledge of SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation and related policies
ā¢ Knowledge of the Carl D Perkins grant
ā¢ Decision making and problem-solving skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelorās Degree in a related field *and* Five (5) years of related work experience
+ SACSCOC (or other higher education) accreditation experience
+ Higher Education and Accreditation experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
ā¢ Supervisory experience
ā¢ Masterās degree
Supervisory Responsibility
Has oversight over all positions within the department.

This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment and
technologies, and requires business attire and professionalism.
Physical Demands

employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or
controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or
move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend work.
Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required. Overnight travel required to attend conferences and state
meetings.
