Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce seeks an Executive Director, Innovation Banking to originate and execute capital investments into US-based technology companies. Monitor loan and credit portfolios. Drive and maintain relationships with US-based growth equity and venture capital firms. Develop strategies for capitalizing client and partner portfolios. Mentor and guide junior team members with respect to executing new investments and loans. #LI-DNI
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with originating and leading underwriting of credit and lending transactions for venture- and growth equity-backed software companies. Experience must include a minimum of: 5 years of experience with capital investments in the technology and venture industries; 5 years of experience with managing underperforming investments and securities; 5 years of experience with building and maintaining relationships with senior-level venture capital and growth equity investors, as well as CFOs and CEOs of portfolio companies; 5 years of experience with loan origination software systems, data platforms including Pitchbook, Capital IQ, and CrunchBase, and loan pricing tools including PrecisionLender. 10% domestic and international travel required.
