Day Shift / 40hrs/wk
Provide leadership, direction, and administration of operations of Masonicare Health Center, Residential Services to ensure compliance with established objectives and the realization of quality and economical management. Maintain hands on relationship and communication with residents in an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strives daily to exemplify Masonicare's mission, vision, values in action, and to remind other staff of the commitment to residents that is embodied in those values, both by word and by deed.
2. Participate and be accountable for oversight of all marketing and sales activities along with occupancy results.
3. Actively participate and provide leadership for the community and its staff. Supervise directly/indirectly all staff in the community. Perform quarterly visits to all 3 shifts for accountability of staff. Establishes performance goals, allocates resources and assesses policies for direct subordinates.
4. Direct the management team to ensure the success of the Community including accountability for all areas of operations, meeting all financial and budgetary objectives.
5. Keeps abreast of the competition in the surrounding area and the industry trends. Develop strategies to address the changing landscape of the industry and work with senior leadership to maintain a competitive edge
6. Serves as a resource for co-workers. Communicates with other levels of management on a regular basis for planning and coordination. Attends required number of staff meetings per year. Conducts ongoing staff retreats to help staff remain aware of concerns of an aging population, to help develop better problem solving and situational crisis skills and to help integrate Masonicare's value system into daily work life. Maintains an open door policy to staff and residents of all levels.
7. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, quality assessment and improvement programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards. Understands and ensures education of all department personnel in the "Right to Know" standard. Keeps required documentation up to date. Reviews all work related incident reports and meets with employees after the fact to ascertain cause(s) of the injury/exposure.
8. Represents Masonicare Health Center, Residential Services in its relationship with key town stakeholders, other retirement or assisted living communities, organizations, groups and government agencies.
9. Develops and manages capital and operating budgets, allocates funds and ensures that Masonicare Health Center, Residential Services operates within the budget.
10. Informs and advises key leadership of Masonicare regarding current trends, problems, and activities in healthcare to facilitate policy making decisions. Keeps Board Members apprised of status of operation. Recommends and updates long-range plans which support the institution's philosophy and general objectives.
11. Ensures compliance with regulations governing accreditation and state regulations for assisted living.
12. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
13. Develops a sales strategy and executes as the sales representative of the community. Obtains appropriate occupancy and sales goals.
14. Takes on-call as needed for the community.
15. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or other related fields
Experience: 3-5 years Senior Living Management experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: ED certification through CALA preferred
