This candidate would require an understanding of Quantitative Investment Strategies across Equities, Rates/FX, Commodities with a focus on selling Multi-Asset Index Solutions to Institutional clients , trading experience and deep client relationships in either PEF (Pension, Endowments and Foundations) or Insurance (FIA/RILA) markets. Lastly, the candidate will be responsible for developing QIS sales strategy research and its distribution to client. **How You’ll Succeed** + Develop and ensure the achievement of strategic, business and financial plans for distribution of QIS sales products across U.S. investor clients. + Deep understanding and involvement through the customized index solutions value chain (origination, marketing, structuring advice, documentation negotiation, execution). + Strong connectivity and understanding of the US Pension and Endowments requirements. Alternatively a strong understanding of the US insurance and retirement market life cycle with focus on FIA/RILA custom index offering. + Additional reach to the US consultant community for Pensions or insurance distribution channels a plus. + Partner with trading, risk, origination and other teams across the firm to enhance CIBC’s functional capabilities. + Keep up to date with market trends on QIS strategies with a focus on equities and commodities. + Within U.S. QIS sales, act as a focus or representative. + Ensure the growth of CIBC World Markets by tenaciously pursuing new opportunities. + Identify new clients then consult with and actively promote/market concepts, products and services to be provided by the area. In a very competitive and deadline oriented market, ultimately convince the client to adopt new/enhanced/additional approaches, services and/or products. Products may be complex in nature. + Ensure that clients are well informed of the area's strategic direction and operation. + Act as an information source on regulations, processes and procedures to other areas of CIBC and provide value-added consulting. + Ensure the strategic direction of the area is well communicated. + Negotiate and secure adequate monetary and human resources for particular objectives. + Ensure that recommendations and opinions offered to clients are in compliance with legislation and policies of CIBC. + Champion CIBC values, and provide support in a manner consistent with the highest quality standards and CIBC objectives. + Remain up-to-date in professional and specialized knowledge sufficient to provide value-added consulting to senior management on an on-going basis, including the continued development and maintenance of: + Relevant subject/functional area, industry and organizational knowledge including knowledge of relevant practices, principles and technologies related to the area of specialization. **Who You Are** + Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets with a focus on derivatives execution, specifically, QIS sales functions and products. + Detailed working knowledge of the industry and market to assess impact of market conditions. + Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to develop manage and leverage relationships with clients, internal and/or external business partners. + Significant presentation/interactive skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion. + Negotiating and influencing skills to shape decision-making processes at senior levels and resolve situations where compromise solutions are often negotiated. + Creativity skills sufficient to resolve complex problems and/or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities. + Comprehensive understanding of elements of profitability, risk and cost control. + Knowledge of business/finance typically acquired through University business degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience and relevant post-graduate education as specified by US-FIC. + Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation and proven ability to exercise strong independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing CIBC World Markets. + Attention to detail, strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and exploit trends and opportunities. + **Values matter to you.** You bring your real self to work and you live our values – trust, teamwork, and accountability. This role has an expected salary range of USD$250,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
