The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks an Executive Director to ensure efficient day to day operations of the Public Buildings’ Capital Program and its supporting units. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, the selected candidate will identify, advise, coordinate and implement effective project management practices to assist in mitigating cost overruns and schedule delays for the Division’s Capital Construction Portfolio valued at over $6 billion. Candidate will be responsible with overseeing Public Buildings Program Administration and Regulatory Units, review, prioritize, and coordinate interagency reviews and approvals with FDNY, DOB, DEP, DEC, Con Ed, National Grid, and additional agencies and utilities. Candidate will provide support on the division’s goals and strategic initiatives, advance key division priorities and oversee process changes to ensure consistency of Public Buildings program objectives. Duties and responsibilities include tracking and monitoring the division’s project delivery and critical projects, ensuring alignment of scope and budget; reviewing quarterly and annual KPI, MMR and sponsor portfolio reports; overseeing systems and process enhancements, including liaising across divisions for agency-wide process and systems improvements; analysis of workload and workflow across the division; support citywide initiatives and programs such as the City's Capital Process Reform, DDC+ and Strategic Blueprint initiatives such as Alternative Delivery, Expanding Contract Tools, and interagency coordination efforts.
Selected candidate will respond to project-related requests from the Commissioner’s office, legal department, Public Affairs as well as prepare external correspondence to City Agencies, City Hall, and Elected Officials.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design, and/or construction, or coordinating a very large engineering project, two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or
2. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and nine years of experience as described in "1" above; two years of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. One year of experience credit will be given for: (a) each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; (b) An accredited Master's degree in one of the disciplines described in "1" above; (c) a Juris Doctor degree, or (d) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Landscape Architect. However, all candidates must have the two years of the administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
