In collaboration with the ASBMR Council (Board of Directors) and Executive Committee, you will develop and implement the organization's long and short-term objectives to drive ASBMR’s mission forward. You will provide strategic advice and operational oversight to ensure sustained growth, financial strength, and industry influence of ASBMR. Given its key position in bone health internationally, your leadership will not only shape ASBMR’s future but also contribute to the entire field of bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal science worldwide. What You’ll DoChampion ASBMR’s Mission – Provide expert guidance to the Board, shaping policies and strategies that advance the Society’s goals.Drive Innovation & Growth – Identify industry trends, utilize technology, develop long-term solutions, and execute bold action plans to support and enhance ASBMR’s influence, membership, and programs.Lead with Impact – Inspire and manage ASBMR’s diverse internal and external teams, ensuring operational excellence, financial health, and strong organizational culture.Shape the Future of Science & Health – Organize and support ASBMR’s high-impact scientific meetings and initiatives, keeping the Society at the forefront of innovation.Build ASBMR’s Revenue Base – Grow ASBMR’s non-dues revenue base and expand fundraising and philanthropic revenue generation.Expand Strategic Partnerships – Build and nurture global relationships with other scientific societies, healthcare organizations, and corporate partners to amplify ASBMR’s reach and advocacy efforts.Be the Face of ASBMR – Represent the Society as a thought leader, spokesperson, and key figure in scientific and healthcare communities worldwide. Is This Role for You?We’re looking for an experienced, results-driven leader with a passion for science, healthcare, and innovation. If you have: A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and at least 5 years of executive management experience.Proven expertise in organizational leadership, financial management, and operational excellence.Experience leading medical or scientific societies, with a deep understanding of nonprofit management.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.Experience leading and managing diverse teams.The ability to think strategically and execute with precision, turning vision into reality.A track record of success in industry relationships, public relations, and strategic partnerships. Bonus QualificationsMBA or equivalent graduate degree.Experience in advocacy and policy within the scientific and healthcare sectors.Deep understanding of professional societies, translational science, and healthcare delivery. Where Do You Fit?At Smithbucklin, we believe in empowering leaders.
