Position Summary
The Foundation Executive Director serves a specific market or regional area as a highly visible, enthusiastic and articulate leader of the MultiCare Foundations and the MultiCare Health System. This individual serves as an ambassador to the community on behalf of MultiCare as a non-profit organization. They are responsible for building a culture of philanthropy, inspiring the community and donors and motivating staff/ caregivers/ volunteers in philanthropic service. The Foundation Executive Director leads a foundation board of volunteers who each serve up to 9 years; board members extend the role of philanthropic ambassador into the community they serve. This is a highly collaborative position both within MultiCare and throughout the communities. The Executive Director is part of the local clinical leadership team/IBU (dotted line) as well as the lead person for the philanthropic efforts internally and externally. The ED must work with all levels of leadership and strategize/integrate/collaborate on the philanthropic priorities necessary to grow the work. Within a complex and highly matrixed organization, the Executive Director will: provide leadership, guidance, development and stewardship to the MultiCare Foundation Board; work collaboratively with clinical leadership to strategize the best fundraising opportunities while collaborating with internal expertise on shared services within the MultiCare Foundations. The ED will plan and implement the major gifts program for the foundation. Frequently the ED will also lead a capital or program campaign in support of a strategic initiative. The Executive Director may serve in the absence of the VP, as the leader for the MultiCare Foundations. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, communication or related disciplineMaster's degree preferredTen (10) years professional experience in personal solicitation in fundraising or like vocation such salesEight (8) years of experience and demonstrated skills in progressive philanthropic organization management/leadership roles to include direct management of a philanthropic teamSix (6) years of experience in working with/leading a philanthropic board of directorsProven track record securing new major gift level contributions from donor prospects and renewing and upgrading gifts from existing donors Current Washington State Driver’s license: and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the State of Washington and use of an insured automobile for work purposesOur Values

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $172,786.00 - $248,664.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
