The Executive Director oversees all functions of the hospital-owned Multi-specialty Physician Group Practice, as well as other hospital-based Ambulatory Service lines, including but not limited to: Wound Clinic, and any other outpatient clinics. The Executive Director partners with the Chief Operating Officer to formulate the organization’s physician practice strategy, assuring growth and operational and financial sustainability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Direct, manage, and oversee the operations of physician group practice and each ambulatory service line within area of responsibility, to assure clinical quality, service excellence, employee engagement, cost effectiveness, productivity, and growth.
• Direct physician recruitment & retention, implement strategy and initiatives for physician group practice operations and growth. Monitor and oversee all physician employment terms and agreements for physicians and any contract provisions, updates, and revisions that address the responsibilities of Physician Practice Management, ensuring compliance with Fair Market Value (FMV).
• Works closely with Medical Director(s) and Chiefs to collaborate on advancing clinical outcomes and efficiency.
• Possesses overall managerial responsibility for the operational performance while assuring financial sustainability.
• Support hospital strategy and physician operations within assigned market by participating in various meetings, assisting with financial reviews, facilitating recruiting discussions, and participating in practice growth initiatives and revenue cycle analysis.
• Prepare budgets, evaluate historical performance, and generate goals for future achievement, and perform action planning as necessary.
• Partner with Chief Operating Officer to devise achievable annual strategic plans while aligning them with annual operating plan and objectives.
• Reviews & analyzes clinical and operational data regularly to ensure acceptable outcomes are met, and reports findings to Administration and other pertinent members within the organization.
• Ensures all functions are in compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and accrediting standards.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree preferred in a related clinical field and/or Business/ Healthcare Administration.
• Five-Seven years’ experience in middle or higher-level management.
• Relevant experience in physician practice management is strongly preferred.
• Appropriate professional licensure in the state of Massachusetts, if required.
