Executive Director of Finance

The Executive Director of Finance is to be responsible for ground up underwriting and modeling for existing luxury hotel portfolio redevelopment projects as well as new acquisitions and developments. Additional responsibilities include project reporting, creation of project budgets, liaising with accounting department to establish and manage project accounting processes, project cash flow management, evaluating and investigating new investment opportunities, special projects, and assisting senior management with entering new markets. Responsibilities also include oversight of accounting functions of Tanzerra Resorts such as AP, Payroll, GL, financial reporting. Additional responsibilities include oversight and support of the property accounting function including budgets, forecast, monthly reporting, AP, and Payroll. 

The Executive Director of Finance will work with the development team to generate complex financial analyses that respond to evolving revenue and cost assumptions and predict long term performance metrics. Responsibilities include ongoing sensitivity analysis, and cost management. At times, assist with analysis of operational revenues upside and expense control opportunities. The Executive Director of Finance will oversee the financial reporting of the Home Offices in Arizona and Florida to ensure revenues, labor, expenses are recorded properly and to ensure accuracy of the monthly financial statements, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.

Essential Functions

• Develop pro-forma financials, analyses, and modeling.

• Establish financial tracking processes to create monthly proforma updates, quarterly internal investment reports and annual budgets and projections.

• Prepare presentations and financial reports. Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions, and make recommendations.

• Track existing financial performance, projected development impact, ramp, and post reposition stabilization before and after development.

• Interact with various disciplines including operations, sales, marketing, and revenue management.

• Maintain financial models for evaluation of real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, bank loans and other project finance activities.

• Assist in financial project management including establishing chart of accounts, budgets, and tracking systems.

• Manage cash flow projections and performance metrics for Tanzerra Resorts’ portfolio and joint ventures.

• Perform underwriting of individual properties and portfolio opportunities. Create forward looking strategic timeline that is overlaid with current portfolio, growth initiatives, and opportunistic investments.

• Promote a culture of high performance, collaborative cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

• Assist with construction and purchasing draws, cost projections and internal budgeting within overall proforma including interface and updates from operational and property-level department heads.

• Review work of Senior Staff Accounts in areas of AP, Payroll, GL, and preparation of financial statements.

•Must be willing to relocate and live full time in the Phoenix Arizona metro area.

Required Education and Experience 

A combination of up to a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related, with at least 10 years’ experience in hotel finance, acquisitions, and/ or accounting required.
