Job Summary

The Executive Housekeeping Manager has oversight of the housekeeping department Crested Butte Mountain Resort Properties. This role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day leadership of the Housekeeping Department and its employees. This position is responsible for handling many of the administrative and operational duties of maintaining the Housekeeping Department. They will ensure their team is providing the highest quality cleaning services, as well as maintaining front of house and back of house space at all times. This position will lead quality assurance projects and provide insight into opportunities to adjust the service plan to enhance the experience of our internal and external guests. Additionally, the candidate will provide direct management of daily housekeeping activities to ensure alignment with budgetary goals to include strategic purchasing of all supplies as well as creation of the departmental weekly staffing plan. Further, the Executive Housekeeping Manager will lead the recruiting and training efforts for all line level employees including interviewing and development of full time, contract and seasonal employees.  This individual will work closely with departmental leadership and will have the opportunity to serve as a key member of the hotel leadership team.

 
Job Responsibilities

Work with the General Manager to maximize productivity and quality standards while minimizing expenses. Budget, forecast and support fiscal responsibility within the operations of the department. Provide supervision and direction for all Housekeeping activities of the hotel to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained. Oversee payroll for the housekeeping department, including calculating piece rate and approving payroll. Interview, select, train, supervise, evaluate, counsel, and administer progressive coaching and disciplinary procedures for Housekeeping team members when needed Continuous visual inspection of guest rooms and public space areas Investigate complaints, evaluate corrective actions, and implement plans to resolve and de-escalate conflicts. Comply with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation. Ensure the Housekeeping Department leads the charge in regard to recycling and our Commitment to Zero. Solicit employee feedback and review employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns. Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement. Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations. Supervise the linen inventory Drive HPOR to meet budgeted goals. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry staff in details of work.  Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, etc.  Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of refurb projects. Active Member of Hotel Leadership Team, and will require active engagement in total property success, at times needing to support in a manner outside of the defined Housekeeping Manager role.  Other tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in managing a hotel/resort housekeeping department Minimum of 2 years experience in Supervisory /Management /Assistant Housekeeping position Word, Excel, Outlook experience and skills  Ability to life weight ranging from 25-50 lbs Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Preferred:

Bilingual English/Spanish prefered

 

The expected pay range is $55,000 - $75,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
