Executive Leader, Labor and Employee Relations
**Job Description Summary** Job Summary: The Executive Leader, Labor and Employee Relations, is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects around the strategy of labor relations and employee relations within the organization. This role involves dealing with unions, union avoidance efforts, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. The executive leader will work closely with management, HR, and legal teams to develop and implement strategies that promote positive employee relations and minimize labor disputes. **Job Description** **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement labor relations strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. + Manage the strategy and planning of union negotiations. Serve as expert advisor to the business Segments for contract administration, grievance resolution. Primary interface to external union leadership for overall GEHC representation. + Lead union avoidance efforts by developing and implementing proactive employee relations programs and initiatives. Engage and develop leaders ‘on the ground’ to enact. + Provide guidance and support to management on labor relations issues, including contract interpretation, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. + Conduct regular assessments of the organization's labor relations climate and develop action plans to address any issues or concerns. + Collaborate with HR and legal teams to develop and deliver training programs on labor relations and employee relations topics. + Monitor industry trends and best practices in labor relations and employee relations and incorporate them into the organization's strategies and practices. + Represent the organization in labor relations matters before government agencies, arbitrators, and other external parties. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor relations and employee relations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. + Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. + Proven experience in union negotiations, contract administration, and grievance resolution. + Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to develop and implement effective labor relations strategies and programs. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. + High level of integrity and professionalism.
