As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.
Objectives of the Position
This role will be responsible for procurement related activities of raw materials, SCM portion of P2P cycle, including material planning for both local and import.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities
Material Requirement Planning
+ Material master, Info record & Source List maintenance in SAP S4 & PPDS
+ Use SAP PPDS for MRP
+ Ensure that MRP, procurement plans and schedules are correctly derived from the production plan.
+ Ownership & timely release of monthly/weekly POs/schedules to the External vendors.
+ Inventory Management for RMs: ABC Control, Shortages, Overstock, Obsolescence & SMI stock control.
+ Inventory policy adherence – MOQ, Lot Size, Safety Stock, Min-Max stock formulation.
+ Follow up with Suppliers to ensure timely delivery as per PO & QCD specifications.
+ Tracking of inbound shipments & update ETA in SAP & providing EXIM team relevant documents from suppliers for clearance.
Purchase to Pay
+ Outline Agreement maintenance in SAP.
+ PR/PO creation, amendments.
+ Manage vendor payments to avoid delays.
+ Track import shipments and act as an Escalation point for visualizing any material arrival delay.
+ Collect required documents from supplier(s) for master data processes.
Compliance
+ Ensure seamless ADC clearance for specific grades with accurate documentation and batch details.
+ Monitor and declare hazardous imports to regulatory authorities, maintaining environmental and safety compliance.
+ Adhere to chemical compatibility norms for hazardous goods to prevent safety hazards and violations.
+ Plan shipments strategically to optimize customs clearance and minimize delays.
+ Verify CAS numbers and MSDS alignment to ensure regulatory adherence.
Purchase to Strategy
On request by Category Manager or Category Buyer
+ Provide information on market inflation on the price of raw material and other category items.
+ Analyse CM1 impact due to changing RM prices.
+ Inventory management of non-moving, aged and slow moving.
+ S&OP reporting and presentation.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
Education:B.E / B. Tech with MBA (Preferred)
Working Experience:Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industry. Knowledge of supplier, market environment, products, and technologies within respective area
Technical & Professional Knowledge:IT skills (e.g., SAP S4 HANA, SAP BW, MS Excel, Power BI & Power Automate
