Key Responsibilities: + Collaborate with the Executive Chef in planning and implementing menus for the Kennedy Center’s diverse dining outlets, including restaurants and the employee café. + Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, flavor, and presentation. + Manage food cost control, inventory, and staff scheduling to ensure operational efficiency and budget adherence. + Introduce fresh, innovative culinary concepts that improve the dining experience and reflect the Kennedy Center’s status as a world-class venue. + Train, mentor, and lead the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Culinary degree or relevant certification with significant experience in restaurant operations. + Experience in high-volume foodservice, particularly in fine dining or cultural institution settings. + Strong understanding of current food trends, menu development, and cost management. + Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and encourage a kitchen team. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and other relevant computer applications. + ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
