Position Summary:

Applies physical activity and behavioral interventions for clinical diseases and health conditions that have been shown to provide therapeutic and/or functional benefit.

Reports to:  Manager

FLSA:  Non-exempt 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Designs individual exercise prescriptions, sets goals, prescribes appropriate actions to meet the goals, implements plan. Performs risk factor stratification and education

Maintains a medical file on each patient and acts as a liaison between the physician and the patient.

Evaluates EKG and hemodynamic response to exercise for abnormalities, and terminates exercise or modifies exercise prescription accordingly.

Institutes emergency measures for patients with chest pain, arrhythmias and/or cardiac arrest.

Coordinates scheduling for patients and coverage by staff.

Supervise stress testing including but not limited to Nuclear stress testing (chemical and exercise), Stress echo, and Dobutamine.


Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Master's degree
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Minimum Work Experience
1 year in adult/ health fitness (Preferred)
1 year cardiac rehab experience (Preferred)
