Exercise Physiologist (FT- 1 FTE. Variable Shift)
Work primarily in the Cardiology Clinic to perform treadmill stress tests, assist with stress echocardiograms and proctor nuclear stress tests. Will need to be skilled in assessing patient symptoms during exercise and must be proficient in assessing vital signs and monitoring 12 lead ECG before, during and after exercise. Position Summary: The Exercise Physiologist works with patients challenged with cardiovascular, pulmonary and metabolic diseases and disorders as well as with apparently healthy populations to enhance quality of life, manage health risk and promote lasting health behavior change. The Exercise Physiologist develops and administers programs designed to enhance aerobic endurance, cardiovascular function, muscular strength and endurance, balance and range of motion. The Exercise Physiologist educates their patients about testing, exercise program components, clinical and lifestyle self-care for control of chronic disease and health conditions and clinical risk reduction. Minimum Qualifications: Required + Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field + American Heart Association BLS + Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM) required within 4 months of hire + American Heart Association ACLS required within 4 months of hire + 500 hours of practical experience in a clinical exercise program Preferred + Masters of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. + Provides direct patient exercise session monitoring, risk reduction education and progressive exercise prescription for patients with a wide range of clinical health conditions. + Actively participates in the case management of patients by communicating and facilitating interactions with physicians, staff and other departments, providing thorough documentation per regulatory requirements. + Completes all clerical procedures related to integrating documentation for patient care and patient education. + Completes other duties as assigned to the department supervisor.
