This may include a broad variety of advanced tests, such as electrodiagnostic tests, exercises, and therapies. The incumbent works with patients and clients to develop treatment programs to assist in rehabilitation, health, fitness, and/or sports performance goals.
Job Essentials
Meets minimum Job essentials of an Exercise Physiologist I
Acts as a lead to all department staff, including problem solving and assisting with a wide variety of difficult cases.
Responsible to mentor, orients, and assist in the training of department staff.
Oversees student internships.
Oversees fitness testing for outside groups (fire dept or police dept).
May perform some supervisory duties when Manager is unavailable.
Represents facility in providing community fitness health, and/or athletic performance training.
Team lead for a department rehabilitation program i.e., CR, PR, PAD, Cancer, etc.
Responsible for AACVPR certification in Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation or is
Responsible to ensure Medical signatures on ITP’s, Reassessments and Discharges
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field at an accredited institution. (Degree will be verified)
Knowledge of exercise prescription, health behaviors, and safe cardiovascular training methods as appropriate for the care setting.
2 years of clinical experience in a Hospital setting
Certification as an AACVPR Clinical Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional, or American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or advanced Certification in Health/ Wellness (Health/ Wellness setting), or NSCA-CSCS certification depending on work setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualification
ACLS required prior to being eligible to proctor a stress test.
Physical Requirements:
Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling.
