Exercise Physiologist - Part Time - 24hr - Day
*Description* Summary: To improve the overall functioning and well being of members with a variety of diagnoses especially neuromusculoskeletal injuries and diseases. Services are provided in a gym setting. Responsibilities: 1. Designs and implements Exercise Programs for individuals to improve overall functioning & well being. 2. Schedules members. 3. Assists Program Coordinator in the designing and implementing of new programs. 4. Performs participates in peer review/PI. 5. Assists with weekly statistical collection. Notifies Program Coordinator regarding trends of productivity that may adversely affect targets. 6. Participates in continuing education. 7. Assists Program Coordinator in hiring and training new staff. 8. May assist in marketing and promoting exercise programs to local physicians & the community. 9. Makes recommendations for new department equipment, supplies and materials. Can provide literature describing equipment benefit & cost. 10. May lead staff meetings in absence of Coordinator with prior assistance regarding agenda. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Other Information: *Required: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from an accredited program in Exercise Science or bachelor's degree with a master's degree in Exercise Science. Current American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support required. Working knowledge ECG'a and arrhythmia recognition. Excellent communication skills. Minimum Experience: zero to six months Desired: Cardiac Rehabilitation experience preferred. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification preferred. Good knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, particularly of ischemic heart disease. Knowledge in cardiovascular exercise, exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation are critical, good judgement, ability to follow-up and complete projects and high energy level are necessary. An understanding of adult learning methods and psychological intervention is helpful.*Working Conditions: Manual: Little or no manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk Physical Effort: Sedentary/light effort.
